Hazards of waste anesthetic gases
The “Guidance on the Management of Anesthetic Gas Leaks” of the Chinese Society of Anesthesiology shows that the results of studies on the toxicity of inhaled anesthetics indicate that they have:
  •  Mutagenicity
  •  Carcinogenicity
  •  Organ toxicity
  •  Significant impact on fertility
  •  Impact on psychological behavior
Generation of waste anesthetic gases
Waste anesthetic gas is the overflow gas that is emitted by the anesthesia machine at the end of expiration, so it is intermittently emitted gas. This includes exhaled gas and driving gas. N2O, sevoflurane, isoflurane and other exhaled gas are all high-risk gases.
Since current anesthesia machines basically use a semi-closed breathing circuit, exhaust gas emission is inevitable.
AGSS - H is suitable for exhaust gas pipes with a flow rate of ≥ 75 L/min.
AGSS - L is suitable for exhaust gas pipes with a flow rate of ≤ 50 L/min.
